I woke up one day with a horrible tooth ache and as the day progressed the pain was unbearable. I barely mad it out of work and with my main dentist not being available for 2 days I uad to look around and was lucky to find Revive Family Dental. I was seen at 530pm and was squeezed in for an emergency appointment. The Dr is amazing and has an amazing hand. I have never left a dentist office with out feeling pain and or happy but I have been here at RFD for 3 appointments now and each time I am taken care of with warmth and joy. Front staff always smilling and receiving me well to the Dr making sure I dont feel any pain at all and meticulously completing each job. I am truly happy to have found my new Dental care home. Thank you for everything.Posted on Google![]()

Get answers to common questions from new patients.
A root canal (endodontic treatment) involves removing the “pulp”—the soft center of the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels—when it becomes inflamed or infected. The dentist cleans and disinfects the inside of the tooth, then fills and seals it with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha.
Contrary to popular belief, a root canal is intended to relieve pain, not cause it. With modern anesthetics and techniques, most patients report that the procedure feels similar to getting a routine filling. The area is completely numbed before the work begins. You may feel some sensitivity or tenderness in the days following the procedure, but this is usually manageable with over-the-counter pain relief.
While only a dentist can confirm the need for a root canal via an X-ray, common symptoms include:
A root canal typically takes one to two appointments, depending on the condition of the tooth and the complexity of the root canal system. Each session generally lasts between 30 to 90 minutes.
Most people can return to work or school the same day or the following day. For the first few days:
In most cases, yes. After the pulp is removed, the tooth becomes more brittle over time because it no longer has a blood supply. A crown protects the tooth from fracturing and restores its full functionality. For front teeth, a filling might suffice, but back teeth (molars) almost always require a crown due to the pressure of chewing.
While root canals have a very high success rate (over 95%), a tooth can occasionally become re-infected due to new decay, a cracked filling, or complicated root anatomy that wasn’t fully reached the first time. If this happens, a “root canal retreatment” may be necessary to save the tooth again.
